SEJAL PATEL

Sejal received her BFA in Art Education with a concentration in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and MFA in Photography from Syracuse University. Sejal has taught photography at Onondaga Community College, Syracuse University, and The New England Institute of Art in Brookline, MA. In addition to teaching photography courses at the college level, Sejal has been passionate about expanding creative arts programming for urban youth communities. She has gained extensive experiences working with various community based arts organizations including Partners for Arts Education in Syracuse, NY, Community Art Center in Cambridge, MA, and recently Photographic Resource Center in Boston, primarily focusing on creative arts integration within public schools and youth development through out of school media arts programing. As a teaching artist, Sejal recently taught a 2.5 day performance art workshop at the Pont-Aven School of Contemporary Art in Pont Aven, France. As of June 2011, Sejal will begin the position of an interim Program Director at the Community Art Center in Cambridge, MA, an organization she has been affiliated with since 2006 in her roles as Teen Media Program Director and as a member of their Board of Directors.
